2015 has really been the year in which I have found skincare products that my skin has absolutely loved! I attended the launch of the new Clinique Smart Range a little while back and when I had a chance to test the texture of the products on my hand, the Night Cream really impressed me the most! After applying it, my skin had the most amazing glow to it and the texture felt like silk. I was lucky enough to receive the new Clinique Smart Range to try out and I am so thrilled with the results that I have seen and felt over the last few weeks.
If you have read my other skincare posts, you’ll know that I have incredibly sensitive skin, and that products either cause me to break out or they make my skin itch and feel irritated. Clinique’s products are all allergy tested and 100% fragrance free.
What does it mean? Clinique first formulates without known allergens. Then they allergy test every product 12 times on 600 people. If even one of those 7,200 applications incites an allergic reaction, they will start over.
I was introduced to the 3-Step range 10 years ago when I was really battling with my skin. I had become desperate to find something that wouldn’t irritate it any further and after receiving a sample of the 3-Step range in a magazine, I visited a Clinique counter to purchase it. If you haven’t used Clinique’s products before, I suggest you spend a few minutes with one of the Clinique consultants and tell them a bit about your skincare routine, and experiences (good and bad) with skincare products, so that they’ll then be able to advise you on the correct Clinique range for your skin concerns.
I usually switch to a lighter moisturiser in summer because when it’s warmer, richer moisturisers end up leaving my skin feeling clammy, but this year I found my skin remained dry and tight instead of becoming oily. I think this is a result of high stress levels I’m experiencing, the dry air, and me not drinking enough water again. My skin literally soaks up every drop of the Clinique Smart Range when I apply it, and the results over the last few weeks have been phenomenal. My skin doesn’t feel dry anymore, the texture has improved, my breakouts have calmed down, and my fine lines are definitely less visible. A friend complimented me at dinner the other night on how much my skin has improved.
Over the last few weeks, I’ve been using the following products from the Clinique Smart Range:
Clinique Smart SPF 15 Custom-Repair Moisturiser (R780)
This is an oil-free day cream that has an SPF, it helps hydrate, brighten and visibly repair damage. Harnessing “smart” technology, this daytime moisturiser helps protect against harmful UV rays, and it targets and repairs multiple concerns, such as lines and wrinkles, loss of elasticity, dullness, rough texture, and poor barrier function. Use it in the morning after the 3-Step range, and apply all over your face, avoiding your eye area.
It’s available in three different formulas for:
- Very Dry to Dry skin (I’m using this one)
- Dry Combination skin
- Combination Oily to Oily skin
Clinique Smart Night Custom-Repair Moisturiser (R780)
This night moisturiser addresses concerns such as lines and wrinkles, dehydration, uneven skin tone and sagging skin, by helping to provide targeted visible repair overnight when your skin is in a state of rest. This formula utilises “smart” technology at night, allowing your skin to awaken looking firmer and brighter, promoting a refined texture, and diminished lines and wrinkles. Use it in the evenings after the 3-Step range, and apply all over your face, avoiding your eye area.
It’s available in three different formulas for:
- Very Dry to Dry skin (I’m using this one)
- Dry Combination skin
- Combination Oily to Oily skin
Clinique Smart Custom-Repair Serum (R725 to R950)
This serum understands the particular needs of your skin, providing custom repair for the damage you see and the damage you don’t. It visibly addresses uneven skin tone, lines and wrinkles, firming, and radiance. Apply this serum twice daily, morning and night. Place two pumps of serum into the palm of your hand and apply all over your face in an upward motion. Apply the remaining serum on to your neck. It’s suitable for all skin types.
Clinique Smart Treatment Oil (R695)
This lightweight oil, is infused with de-aging ingredients that help to deeply condition dry, damaged skin. It’s nourishing and non-greasy, and will leave your skin looking instantly radiant, and feeling smooth, while potent antioxidants work over time to help shield against harmful free radical damage. After cleansing, dispense 2 to 3 drops of oil in hands (it has an eye dropper which makes this easier). Gently warm oil in your hands and pat into skin, avoiding your eye area. For added radiance, a few drops of this oil can be mixed in your hands with a daily moisturiser for an added boost of nourishment. It can be added to the Smart SPF 15 Custom-Repair Moisturiser and the Smart Night Custom-Repair Moisturiser. For extra conditioning or comfort, apply it after your daily moisturiser to “seal in” everything that has been applied – it’ll leave your skin with an extra dewy glow.
One of the great things about the new Clinique Smart Range is that you can use it in combination with any of the other Clinique ranges that you are currently using.
