Last week Monday I was treated to high tea at the Saxon Hotel, Villas and Spa by 27Pinkx for their press launch. I was greeted at the door by the lovely Jen Su and Danielle Franco and handed a welcome glass of orange juice. I helped myself to some of the delicious snacks and found a seat at a table decorated with the prettiest flower arrangements.

Jen Su introduced Khatija and Anjum, sisters who own 27Pinkx, and gave us some background info on them. These ladies are absolutely breathtaking in person and have really come far from growing up in a small town in Limpopo to running their online store that showcases these fabulous luxury products.

27Pinkx was created with one simple mission in mind: to bring a little piece of Hollywood luxury to women throughout South Africa. They produce exceptional and stylish make-up, storage items and tools at affordable prices.

I’ve seen 27Pinkx’s products on their site, but that’s never as exciting as seeing them in person, being able to touch them and do some swatching of the shimmering shades. The eyeshadows are super rich in colour, have a great shimmer to them and each palette contains 10 shades in 1.

Krassi Toma did make-up tutorials on two models, one had sultry lips and the other smoky eyes – two looks I believe every woman should try at least once. When he finished the smoky eyes he blew pigment off a piece of paper across her eyes. It left a faint sparkle over her eyes which caught the light perfectly. A very clever tip! But you would need a friend to help you out with that.
