Immediately when I see “matte” in the name of a lipstick I expect it to end up drying my lips out and leave them feeling tight. Don’t get me wrong, I really like matte lipsticks, but I’ve tried a number or different brands’ matte lipsticks and am yet to find the perfect one that doesn’t make me reach for a lip balm or gloss every half an hour to give my lips some moisture.

Avon’s Perfectly Matte Lipsticks come very close to the type of matte texture that I would like in a lipstick. They have rich pigmented colours that really stand out when applied to my lips, a long-lasting finish that doesn’t end up transferring completely to my first two cups of coffee in the morning, and they don’t don’t dry out my lips and leave them feeling dehydrated.
