A little over a week ago, I received a delivery from Pantene and P&G with these exciting goodies inside – Pantene Aqualight Shampoo and Conditioner (both cost R42.99 for 200ml). Pantene has recently reformulated their products and upgraded their shampoos to now contain a world-first damage blocker which is the first of its kind in SA! I was lucky enough to have been selected as one of the bloggers to trial this range for a month, and let my readers know what I though about it.
I have long, wavy hair, that’s not very thick, is highlighted, and is styled with heat styling tools almost daily. Finding a shampoo and conditioner range that doesn’t end up leaving my hair feeling weighed down or dry like straw is not always easy, so generally when I find one range that works, I stick to it!
I inspected the packaging on the bottles to find out more about this range:
- The words “Aqua” and “light” were part of the name
- Both products claim to strengthen hair without weighing it down
- Both are silicon-free, lightweight and nourishing
- Both are for fine hair
I must admit, my hair had been in a bit of a sad state as a result of the stress of moving, not being as healthy as I normally am, product build-up from silicon-rich products, and the change of season. I was ready to try something new, especially after reading what this range claimed to have in store for my hair.
I’ve been using the Pantene Aqualight Shampoo and Conditioner for just over a week, and I must say I am impressed with how quickly it rinses – I don’t have to stand under the running water for ages in order to rinse all of the product out. This range, like all of the Pantene ranges, really smells amazing and I’ve found myself smelling my hair more than once during the day. *blush* Combing my long hair when it’s wet isn’t too much of a mission, because it isn’t tangled or knotty after cleansing. The biggest highlight of using this range is that it doesn’t weigh my hair down. After cleansing my hair feels so incredibly lightweight when I dry it – either blow dry or flat iron – and it remains lightweight throughout the day without falling flat. Not many products leave it feeling like that!
Two people at the office have asked me what I’ve changed with my hair lately, and the only change is that I am using this range. I am trialling it for a full month and will post again in a week about how week #2 has gone, so keep an eye out for the follow-up post. Thank you again Pantene and P&G for sending me these products to try out.
