Two products I’ve used non-stop over the last month are the Vaseline Total Moisture Nourishing Serum and Vaseline Cocoa Butter Lip Therapy. I’ve been incredibly happy with both of them and they are perfect for this time of year when the air starts getting drier and more chilly.

Vaseline serum edited

Vaseline serum 2

I bought this Vaseline Serum while on holiday in Bali, Indonesia. Tanning for hours every day, mixed with sea salt from the ocean, left my skin feeling very dry and itchy (not to mention sore after I got sunburnt one day). February is an extremely hot and humid month in Bali, so I went to the pharmacy one night to find a light cream that wouldn’t leave me feeling sticky. I was super surprised to see this serum on the shelf, as we don’t even get it in South Africa, and so excited to try it out that I went home with two tubes.

This serum boasts:

  • pure oat extract
  • 24-hour nourishing serum
  • 10x moisture boost
  • 10x more oat extract as compared with Vaseline Total Moisture Nourishing Lotion

When I applied it to my sunburn it soothed my skin instantly! It’s non-sticky – even in hot and humid weather – nourishing enough that it will leave your skin feeling moisturised immediately, and light enough that it can be reapplied during the day, if need be. It also has a comforting smell because it contains pure oat extract.

Now that I’m back in SA and the air is getting drier, I’ve been using it twice a day to moisturise my skin. I regret not bringing another 2 tubes home with me!

Vaseline lip therapy edited

Vaseline lip therapy 2Another Vaseline product I’m super impressed with is the Cocoa Butter Lip Therapy. I didn’t buy it on this last trip to Indonesia, but rather on a previous trip to Singapore. Vaseline is one of the few things that soothes my chapped lips, and the great thing about this particular lip therapy is that it contains cocoa butter extracts which contain vitamin E. It isn’t thick or sticky, leaves a faint shine on my lips after application, and can be applied as often as needed. I make sure I apply it on my lips just before I go to bed at night for soft lips in the morning. I know you can get little tubs of Cocoa Butter Vaseline in SA, but I wish they sold these great little tins. This product will definitely remain in my bag right through autumn and winter.

I can only hold thumbs that these two products will be sold in SA stores one day.
