When it comes to choosing lipsticks and lipglosses, and very often nail enamels, I always pick coral! I first wore a coral colour on my nails about 5 years ago and it quickly became a constant in my unique look. These two coral lipsticks are currently my favourites. I got them in Indonesia and Singapore while traveling overseas in December.
We don’t have the Maybelline Bold Matte range in South Africa yet and I really hope it comes this way. I found this lipstick in a small pharmacy in Kuta Beach, Bali. I fell in love with how bright this lipstick is and I didn’t have a matte coral yet. It does dry my lips out a little bit so I make sure I keep vaseline or a clear lipgloss with me to apply over it. This shade is called MAT1. I love it so much I asked my mom to bring me another one when she lands in 2 weeks.
This is the first MAC Sheen Supreme lipstick I have bought. I love its creamy texture and how it feels on my lips. The colour called out to me instantly while I was standing at the MAC counter in duty free in Singapore. I had first thought I would get a pink lipstick and ended up leaving with this one. This shade is called Full Speed.
Interestingly enough I heard that a study had been conducted last year in South Africa and many women said they never wore coral. I think many women choose “safer” shades when it comes to lipstick and lipgloss and opt for nudes or light pinks. I say be daring, you only live once. Wear a coral lipstick and go out for the evening with the girls. I can guarantee you you will receive lots of compliments and you will find yourself feeling more confident.
