While browsing the make-up stands about a month ago I came across the new Maybelline Clear Smooth All in One Shine-free Cake Powder. I needed a new face powder and was keen to try this one out. The tester did a pretty good job of attracting my attention by showing me the cute compact that has your sponge and mirror included – great for when you are on the go.

I bought one in Nude (there are 9 shades to choose from) and after using it for a week I was really impressed. It doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin, applies easily, doesn’t look yellow on my skin tone, is matte when I apply it and stays matte for pretty much the rest of the day. The biggest plus point for me is that it covers my blemishes quite well. My skin has been very iffy of late and I’ve been suffering from bad breakouts. I know I shouldn’t cover them with make-up but on days when I want to go out and not be self-conscious about them I used it. It covered them so well which left me smiling! I was so happy with the results that I went out and bought a second one to keep in my drawer in case I ever battle to get my shade again.
